This piece was done in Newport Beach for the festival launching the 68th annual international yacht race. I recreated Bernini's Fountain in Rome complete with the center obelisk done in chalk over a weekend. Working in 360° allows many viewers to see the piece from every angle all at once. It was a huge success!

I was one of 5 artists delegated to go to Xian, China to help launch the Olympic games and the tourism that was growing, by introducing street painting to the city. I chose to do an image of superman flying over the great wall of China and a portrait of Yau Ming, one of China's athletic heros.

While working on the villains I decided to change the image the second day. Originally there was a gold frame surrounding them and they were holding other "movie" objects. I switch this to a curtain that was being pulled aside to peak in on their meeting. I then wanted to throw humor into it and give them cookies and milk........chocolate chip of course!

Chalk Festivals

This is a representation of various chalk festivals I have participated in over the years. Some of the images are shown complete while others show the process in which they were done. All of this work is created using only soft pastels on either asphalt or pavement and range from 8' x 10' to 12' x 12'.
